Job Description
- Perform blood draws using venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
- Explain extraction procedures to patients to ease anxiety.
- Label and log all blood vials with absolute accuracy.
- Process specimens using centrifuges and prepare them for lab transit.
- Maintain sterile workspaces and safely dispose of biohazardous materials.
- Manage inventory by tracking and restocking blood collection supplies.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Training: Graduation from an accredited phlebotomy program.
- Certification: Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) credential preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional vein-finding precision and strong data entry skills.
- Traits: Deep empathy, excellent communication, and strong diligence.
- Stamina: Ability to stand for long intervals and lift up to 50 lbs.
